Ellie Quigley,

Ellie Quigley, a dynamic and experienced instructor, has been teaching UNIX and Programming classes for over 20 years. Ms. Quigley was a major player in the development of the UCSC extension program and wrote and taught the initial Unix and Shell programming courses there and at DeAnza College. As well as teaching, Ms. Quigley developed, leased, and customized courses for a number of vendors in the Silicon Valley, primarily Sun Microsystems, Xilinx, UCSC, and Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center in Monterey, California.
In 1992, Ellie formed her own training company, Learning Enterprises, Inc. with 10 contractors who provided training in Java, C++, Perl, Unix, System Administration, etc. and
customized training courses.
In 1993 Prentice Hall contracted with Ms. Quigley to write a book on the Perl programming language based on course material she had developed for Sun. Since that time Ellie has published the following books:

Ken Jones
Independent Consultant, Instructor, and Author
Ken Jones has hundreds of in-class hours teaching advanced technical topics, and almost 20 years experience in technical training and documentation targeted towards software developers.
Ken was lead instructor at Ajuba Solutions (formerly Scriptics), which provided advanced business-to-business e-commerce solutions based on XML and Tcl. While at Ajuba Solutions, Ken worked with John Ousterhout, the creator of Tcl, and other key developers of the Tcl language including Jeff Hobbs and Brent Welch. Ken also has worked for companies including Borland, Silicon Graphics, and Sybase where he specialized in products for creating graphical user interfaces and for providing database connectivity.
Ken also enjoys learning new programming languages, and has worked in almost a dozen over the course of his career. (He fondly recalls some projects in FORTH.)
Ken is also the co-author of the following books published by Prentice Hall:

- Tcl and the Tk Toolkit, 2nd ed. (upcoming)
Ken holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Economics from Regents College in New York and a Master of Business Administration from San Jose State University. |
